The Author's Note

I am writing in this blog, Abdul Samad bin Ibrahim with the idea of sharing my research findings about him to everybody who knew him and particularly to my children, who have never lived in the kind of environment that we had. They have all flown out of the nest and living their separate lives. Hopefully, they would drop by and learn more about me and their grandfather’s past.  

Abdul Samad bin Ibrahim is my father, my teacher and had been my mentor until the day he peacefully passed away on the 15th August 1983 leaving behind my mom Majimeen @ Mary Lee (died 18.6.1988), my siblings Abdullah (died 28.8.2008), Abdul Bahar, Faridah (died 2.10.2007), Othman Kamal, Laily, Zaidah (died 17.3.1974) and me.

Here in this blog you will find how his life was before independence (1957) and how things have change over the years. I have been doing an extensive research for the last 10 years going through his files and photographs and have finally decided to document all my findings.

This site is in the format of a ‘weblog’ so that each time I post new information, it will come to the top of the front page. This means that you can check back here frequently to see new updates to the information found here.
